china 22 karat gold – Royal Worcester
Fruit and leaves in muted tones accented with 22-carat gold give Evesham from Royal Worcester a gracious, Old World feel. Made in England, this graceful 8-1/2-inch-tall pitcher complements a full line of Evesham dinnerware and is perfect for serving maple syrup or holding a bouquet of garden flowers.
The bud-shaped pitcher forms a slender spout that is stylistically balanced by the high curve of the handle. It pours beautifully. Like all Evesham pieces, the pitcher features a glossy white background decorated with peaches, pears, blackberries and other kinds of fruit. Russet-colored leaves pick up the gold band that edges the fluted rim. While the vessel is safe for the oven, which means syrup and sauces can be kept warm, and for the freezer, hand-washing with a mild detergent is recommended to protect the gold trim for generations to come. –Ann Bieri
DAN-D-BAR, EAST LIVERPOOL, OHIO – Dis Kid's a WHIZ in da Snow!!! HOLIDAY Advert Mug
One Christmas season a gal bought a vintage mug from me on eBay. Turned out that the mug had been given out by her Uncle’s bar in snowy East Liverpool, Ohio. The bar had long been closed. I live near the East Coast, sort of South Central US, and she lived nowhere near me or her uncle’s old bar.
She was thrilled beyond words to get the mug–and I was absolutely delighted to be able to connect her with her past.
